It's Funny..

It's funny how things turn out, isn't it...?
One minute , we're sailing along.
Doing that same old thing we all do.
Day after day..!
Night after night!
Endless streams, of unrealised consciousness.
Extreme states of highs, and then, those troublesome lows.
There must be, an inner switch that goes off inside of each of us.
Don't you think?
There must be a "coping switch"..!
Isn't there?
How else could we get through this?
These bumps in the road..
Do they get easier with time?
I listen to everyone, and no one really in particular.
I think about those people, and think about myself last.
Why, you might think?
Easy...
If, you put yourself in someone else's shoes.
You can put your inner thoughts to the wayside, momemtarily.
And, take mindless focus off of your own hurdles.
We are all targeted in some way by this.
We just have to find that inner switch I mentioned.
We, always have to revisit our monsters.
But, for some comfort in these tangled times.
If you need a lifeline...
Here I am, in the flesh.
Remember though..
I can't swim, but I won't let you drown.
